Travis d’Arnaud is no longer wearing a boot on his broken left foot.
The Mets’ catching prospect has been out since mid-April with the fracture, but was cleared last Monday to begin limited workouts.
“I don’t know exactly what the plan is, but I’m not in the boot right now and I’m walking around without the boot,” d’Arnaud told The Post yesterday.
Since arriving in Port St. Lucie a week ago, d’Arnaud said his workouts have constituted “upper-body, core and stuff in the pool — nothing too crazy.” He is scheduled for another doctor’s appointment next week. On WFAN yesterday, GM Sandy Alderson said d’Arnaud “can’t run for another two weeks.”
D’Arnaud said he’s proceeding as if he will play for the Mets this season.
* Alderson told The Post that when he informed Ike Davis he was heading to the minors, the struggling first baseman “was disappointed but I think understanding.”
“A player is never going to be agreeable to this kind of decision, and I wouldn’t have expected him to be. But he accepted it,” Alderson said. “As it was described to him, which I firmly believe, which is that this is in his best interest as well as the Mets’ in the sense that we both want him to be a lot better than he has shown to date.”

* Alderson said he has not considered Ruben Tejada to be one of the Mets’ core players.
“Let me say this without being overly critical – I’ve never had shortstop in that core column,” Alderson said on WFAN.
“Is Ike the kind of guy that we’d like to be able to rely on going forward? Absolutely.”
