Kelly praises tough mugging victim after woman tells armed thug he didn’t have ‘cajones’ to shoot her

New York’s top cop today praised the tough-talking SoHo woman who emasculated a cojones-less mugger.

Commissioner Ray Kelly said he admired mugging victim Anna Graham, 54, for standing up to a gun-wielding mugger and telling him he wasn’t man enough to pull the trigger. But Kelly also urged others to think twice before mouthing off to thugs.

“It might not be the smartest thing to do, to say that to someone that’s holding a gun to your head, but obviously you have to admire her gumption and guts,” Kelly said today in Brooklyn, where he was announcing a major prostitution bust.

Graham was having a cigarette in front of her building at about 1 a.m. on July 3 when two muggers approached her.

One bad guy pulled out a pistol, cocked it and pressed it against Graham’s head and demanded her wallet.

She didn’t have it on her and told the gunman that he “didn’t have the cojones to shoot her,” according to law enforcement sources.

The other crook was going through Graham’s car and urged his partner to shoot. Two of Graham’s neighbors showed up, prompting the thugs to take off.

Kelly said Graham showed great courage but he advised other New Yorkers to be more careful.

“It worked for her, and I think everyone needs to assess their own situation,” he said. “So hats off to her, but again, it’s not something I would advise the people in general to do.”
