Mets pick up reliever Ryan Reid off waivers

In a search for bullpen options, the Mets claimed right-hander Ryan Reid off waivers from the Pirates on Monday.

The 28-year-old Reid appeared in seven games for the Pirates last season, posting a 1.64 ERA. He spent most of the season at Triple-A Indianapolis, where he went 7-2 with a 2.73 ERA in 36 appearances.

Reid is 34-28 lifetime with a 3.87 ERA and 29 saves over 10 seasons in the minor leagues.
