A KICK IN THE ASSETS FOR MADOFF KIN

A Connecticut judge has temporarily barred Bernard Madoff, along with family members and associates, from disposing of their assets, it was reported today.

Judge Arthur Hiller yesterday granted a motion by the town of Fairfield for a restraining order against Madoff, his wife, Ruth, brother, Peter, sons, Andrew and Mark, and a slew of others, The Connecticut Post reported on its Web site.

The town wants to recoup pension funds it lost in Madoff’s Ponzi scam.

The judge’s order prevents the sale of any real estate owned by any of those named, including several homes in Greenwich.

Madoff’s sons and an associate, Walter Noel Jr., all have Greenwich homes.

The judge’s order also extends to all accounts at any financial institution and all personal property.

Lawyers are seeking a $75 million judgment. A hearing scheduled for April 13.
