In an attempt to stem falling ratings, CNBC has gone graphic.

The move by the cable business channel — which morphed into a curling channel for the Olympics, causing more buzz than its standard fare — could be a concession to

the office viewer, who often watches with the sound off.

The screen is now filled with revamped charts, new typography and brighter colors.

Here’s our take on the changes:

* New sans serif font is so condensed it’s unreadable in some cases.

* Live market numbers box is particularly large — perhaps to aid its boomers audience.

* The channel with a network known for its “living color” has two primary swatches: a bilious green and a candy-apple red.

* The chart information is devoid of useful data because the charts are so skewed to fit the required windows that a 100-point move on the Dow looks like a blip.

* The “Breaking News” logo appears every time CNBC comes out of commercial.
