Rolle wants chance to run Wildcat with Giants

The addition of Antrel Rolle could be the catalyst that allows the Giants to expand their playbook.

They previously have not participated in the Wildcat formation rage that has swept across the league, but with Rolle in uniform, that might change. He threw a pass out of the Wildcat against the Giants last season — he says he can throw it “a million miles” — and now wants to do it for them.

“Once I’m here, I think they will get a pretty good feel of what kind of athlete I am,” Rolle said. “Whether they’re going to use me with that, I don’t know yet. I hope so. I think it brings another dimension to football. It’s something that also can excite the fans.”

It certainly sounds as if the Giants are intrigued.

“He’s a very talented guy who was a high school quarterback and running back,” coach Tom Coughlin said. “And you can see the intangibles that he brings to the table in terms of his communication skills and his energy. He’s one of those upbeat guys that you really do enjoy being around. And he’s very talented.”
