Taylor not close to making decision about Jets

Don’t expect Jason Taylor to decide whether to sign with the Jets until sometime next week.

Taylor left yesterday for a previously planned getaway to Costa Rica and isn’t due back until next week. That’s when he likely will decide on whether to take the Jets offer. Taylor’s agent, Gary Wichard, told The Post yesterday that Taylor is continuing to mull over the Jets’ offer, which is believed to be a two-year contract worth about $3.5 million.

Wichard indicated that Taylor is trying to sort out “logistics” before making his final decision. Wichard spoke to Rex Ryan, GM Mike Tannenbaum and owner Woody Johnson on a conference call Wednesday as the Jets pressed for an answer.

The Dolphins have stated publicly they won’t consider re-signing Taylor until after the draft.

“My expectations would be that we would have that situation resolved one way or the other [before the draft],” Tannenbaum said.

Mark Sanchez said yesterday he still is running under water during his rehab from left knee surgery, and he doesn’t plan to start running for real until around mid-May, which means he likely will not participate in any OTA sessions. He possibly could be back for June minicamp.

Former Boston College head coach Jeff Jagodzinski, who interviewed for the Jets head coaching job before Ryan was hired, is now coaching the Omaha team in the United Football League.
