Driver’s route of all evil

He shot a man eight times, then clocked in for his day job — driving a bus for the MTA, police said.

Richard Davidson, 36, of Brooklyn, burst into the office of a Valley Stream, LI, commercial cleaning company with guns blazing Sunday to confront the man he believed was having an affair with his wife, police said.

The uniformed city bus driver then shot Anthony Hinds, 43, six times in the leg and twice in the shoulder, sources said. He was arraigned on attempted-murder charges yesterday morning.

“He came in just looking crazy. You could tell he wanted to kill this man,” an employee at SMS Assist Contacting told The Post. “He ran after him and just started firing.”

Hinds’ horrified co-workers panicked, but Davidson walked away calmly, drove to his Brooklyn bus depot and began his daily route on the B11 from Sunset Park to Flatbush, Nassau County police said.

“Apparently, this guy just went into work like nothing had happened,” Sgt. Robert Galgano said.

Despite taking eight bullets, Hinds was in stable condition yesterday, sources said.

When witnesses told police Davidson was wearing a bus-driver uniform, they contacted the MTA — never expecting he would actually be working his regularly scheduled shift.

The MTA located the bus, and Nassau cops followed it for two miles until the end of the line at Flatbush and Nostrand avenues.

The passengers on the crowded bus never knew it was being driven by an attempted-murder suspect.

Just before 5 p.m., when the bus had emptied, cops came on board and busted Davidson.

Held being without bail in Hempstead, LI, he’s scheduled to appear in court tomorrow.

His wife was not present at the arraignment.

A friend of Hinds’ denied he was carrying on an affair with Davidson’s wife. Instead, he insisted, Hinds was just concerned about her because Davidson had been abusive.

Davidson showed up at the company where Hinds works just before 1 p.m., police said. They argued outside the office, and then, when Davidson allegedly brandished the weapon, Hinds fled inside.

As soon as he went through the office doors, Davidson opened fire, police said.
