Latina ‘View’

The TV incubator known as “Extra” could be hatching another syndicated show.

The newsmagazine — which spawned “Celebrity Justice” and the upcoming “Dr. Drew’s Lifechangers” — is secretly preparing a Latina take on “The View” — called “Chit Chat” — as a new daytime show.

“Extra” quietly tested “Chit Chat” last month as a “half-hour special” on Christmas Day — and will repeat that show in ultra-early hours of this Sunday (4 a.m./Ch. 4).

Insiders say Telepictures, which produces “Extra,” has not begun actively shopping “Chit Chat” yet — but that could change in a heartbeat if TV stations in cities with sizable Hispanic audiences warm to the idea.

Every show needs a “hook,” and “Chit Chat” has several — chiefly its two main co-hosts, Ann Lopez and Constance Marie, who were both “married” to comedian George Lopez.

Ann is Lopez’s real-life ex-wife (who famously donated a kidney to him five years ago), while Marie played Lopez’s wife, Angie, on ABC’s “George Lopez” for five years.

Another “Chit Chat” host is Sara Sohn — who isn’t technically Latina (she’s ethnically Korean) but was born in Spain, grew up in Guatemala and speaks flawless Spanish, which she considers her “first language.”

The show’s other co-hosts are BET’s Julissa Bermudez and former “Cheetah Girl“/”Dancing With the Stars” contestant Sabrina Bryan (born Reba Hinojos).

The “Chit Chat” pilot aired from The Grove in LA. Its first guests were actress Nia Vardalos, Colombian singing star Juanes and Ines Sainz — the TV Azteca reporter who made headlines last fall when several Jets players reportedly made “catcalls and rude comments” to her in the locker room.

“Extra” has a solid track record in the spinoff department: “Celebrity Justice” began as a segment on “Extra” before becoming a syndicated show. It was produced by Harvey Levin, who now hosts “TMZ,” based on his celebrity Web site.

“Lifechangers,” which will premiere next fall on The CW, also started as an “Extra” segment.

Telepictures officials had no comment.
