In this week’s “The Dilemma,” VInce Vaughn and Kevin James play best friends and business partners whose relationship is complicated when Vaughn’s character learns that James’ character’s wife has been cheating on him. But James is only the latest in a long line of actors who’ve buddied up with Vaughn on the big screen. His cinematic sidekicks have included everyone from Brad Pitt to real-life pal Jon Favreau. Arguably Vaughn’s most memorable on-screen buddy was Owen Wilson in “Wedding Crashers.” The two played divorce attorneys who, as the title implies, crashed weddings under fake identities to meet women. The montage of the two actors dancing, eating and sleeping their way through various nuptials is a modern-day movie classic. New Line

Two years before “Wedding Crashers,” Vaughn became part of a fraternity on- and off-screen, joining forces with Owen’s brother Luke Wilson and Will Ferrell in “Old School.”

But perhaps the bromance that started it all was between Vaughn and real-life buddy Jon Favreau in the mid-’90s Los Angeles comedy, “Swingers.” As Favreau’s character’s close friend, Vaughn and his on-screen pals teach him all about how to pick up those “beautiful babies.” Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic.com

In the box-office bomb “Fred Claus,” Vaughn played the not-so-nice brother of Santa Claus, played by Paul Giamatti. Over the course of the movie, the two siblings, who’ve had a rift since they were younger, learn to help each other. AP
