This bunny is already a giant and he’s still growing

This life-sized bunny is looking for someone with a big heart — and equally large home.

Atlas is a 7-month-old continental giant rabbit, a breed that can weigh up to 50 pounds and stand taller than four feet, who was recently surrendered by his owner to the Scottish SPCA in Glasgow.

“He is a very friendly rabbit who loves attention and getting cuddles,” the rescue organization’s manager Anna O’Donnell said in a press release. “Atlas is also an inquisitive boy who makes everyone laugh with his mischievous character.”

Right now, the cute cottontail is only the size of a westie and can easily fit in someone’s arms. But he is expected to continue growing, eventually getting to be the size of a medium-sized dog.

“We are looking for a specific home for Atlas due to his breed and size,” O’Donnell said. “A standard rabbit hutch won’t do so his new owner will need plenty of space for him.”

Since posting his adoption notice on Monday morning, the SPCA’s Facebook has been flooded with comments from people who want to take him home.

“REALLY want him!!! I’ve got two continentals already so he would fit in grand!” wrote one commenter.

“If he is in America or could be transferred to America, I have been looking for one just like him. He would have a bunny palace built for him,” another wrote.

Last year, another big bunny named Darius made headlines after he tipped the scales at nearly 50 pounds, making him the largest continental giant in the world.
