This has been an extremely difficult week for Céline Dion and her family.

A day after Dion’s husband, René Angélil, lost his battle with throat cancer, Page Six can confirm that her brother Daniel is dying of cancer as well.

Dion’s rep told Page Six on Friday that Daniel is very ill and is not expected to survive much longer. He is 59 years old.

Dion, 47, is one of 14 children.

Their sister Claudette recently told The Journal of Montreal that Daniel was battling cancer of the throat, tongue and brain. Daniel is surrounded by family and friends in Montreal, including their 89-year-old mother.

“It’s very painful,” Claudette said.

Celine’s husband passed away on Thursday after a years-long battle against cancer.

“It is with deep sadness that we announce that René Angélil, aged 73, died this morning at [his] residence in Las Vegas after a long and courageous fight against cancer,” Dion’s team said.
