NYC travel ban to be lifted Sunday morning

New York will be on the move again by the morning, Governor Andrew Cuomo says.

A travel ban instituted at the height of the deadly storm is set to end at 7 a.m. Sunday, Cuomo tweeted.

Bus service, which was suspended around noon Saturday as the storm began to rage, will resume at that time as well, Cuomo said.

Even though the snow is expected to end at midnight, the extra time will give crews a chance to clear roads before normal traffic gets back on the streets.

While underground subways will keep rolling through the night, elevated and outdoor subway tracks, and the Long Island Rail Road, will be assessed at 6 a.m., Cuomo said.

“I want to thank all New Yorkers who were fantastic today and cooperated. When things are at their worst, NY is at its best,” Cuomo tweeted Saturday night.

Drivers who flout the travel ban could be hit with fines of up to $300.

Flights are expected to resume mid-day Sunday.
