Gregg Popovich, Craig Sager reunite for feel-good moment of day

Coach Pop finally found an in-game interview he likes.

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, who famously hates answering questions during games and has had some memorable exchanges with Craig Sager, welcomed back the TNT reporter with a hug Thursday in their first interview since Sager’s comeback from cancer.

“This is the first time I’ve enjoyed doing this ridiculous interview we’re required to do. It’s ’cause you’re here and you’re back with us,” Popovich said between the first and second quarter of the Spurs’ game at Memphis.

Sager said he doesn’t care how much Pop needles him: “I love him, he’s a great human being.”

The outlandishly dressed Sager has been sidelined for most of the last year and a half to undergo treatments for leukemia, and Popovich was among those in the basketball world who called to check on him and wish him well in his recovery.

Their pregame reunion and hug made the room equally dusty, if not more so:
