Tom Brady gets ruthlessly booed at Super Bowl ceremony

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — The NFL’s pregame ceremony announcing and honoring every living Super Bowl MVP before Sunday’s Super Bowl 50 at Levi’s Stadium was a spirited one.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who’s won three MVPs in the big game, predictably drew the loudest boos. Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning drew the loudest applause. Giants quarterback Eli Manning, a two-time MVP, also got a loud reception.

Brady was fresh off a private NFL party next door to the stadium with his wife, Gisele, and soccer star David Beckham hanging with him for awhile. Also in attendance at the party was NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, who accused and penalized Brady for his role in “Deflategate.’’

Brady, who was also accompanied by Patriots owner Robert Kraft, never got near Goodell at the reception.

Among a few players who did not make the game was former Packers great quarterback Bart Starr, who was shown from his home on the video board.
