American killed in Italy was last seen in a seedy drug den

The American artist killed in Florence was last spotted club-hopping — before winding up at a seedy drug den branded “dangerous” by local police, according to a report.

Ashley Olsen, 35, spent part of last Thursday night at Montecarla, a members-only club that’s open until the wee hours of the morning and has a history of violence and drug incidents, according to The Daily Mail.

“It’s a place where you can find anything you are looking for: sex drugs, transsexuals,” a woman at a nearby bar told the site. “It’s known as a druggy place. When you’re completely wasted, you end up there.”

The club’s owner, Jovo Vukelic, said his surveillance cameras weren’t working and he wasn’t there Thursday night, but one of his provocatively dressed employees confirmed that she handed off evidence to the police.

Meanwhile, Italian Prosecutor Giuseppe Creazzo announced Tuesday that an autopsy confirmed that Olsen was strangled, perhaps with a rope, according to multiple reports.

Investigators are still awaiting results to determine whether she had any drugs in her system and whether she had engaged in any sexual activity.

Olsen was found lifeless and naked on her bed Saturday by her Italian boyfriend, who had her landlord open her apartment after he hadn’t heard from her in a few days.

Her beloved beagle, Scout, was found alive near her body.

On Monday, her father, Walter Olsen, who lives in Florence, where he teaches art at Bianca Cappello, laid a wreath outside her apartment door next to a makeshift memorial of flowers.

Someone wrote two tributes to her in graffiti sprayed onto the building, writing “I love you Ashley” and “He is guilty, he will pay.”
