The Internet isn’t buying Johnny Manziel’s concussion

Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel was diagnosed with a concussion Wednesday, according to ESPN, a surprise after he appeared to come out of last week’s game unscathed.

The team said Manziel reported to the facility complaining of concussion-like symptoms. His status for Sunday’s season finale against Pittsburgh is in doubt, but it is unlikely the Browns would take a risk with Manziel in a meaningless game.

Manziel rushed 11 times for 108 yards in Sunday’s 17-13 loss to the Chiefs, but he wasn’t sacked.

A video surfaced soon after showing the 23-year-old — whose drinking habits have been a source of consternation within the Cleveland organization — allegedly tippling from a can of the alcoholic beverage Four Loko on Christmas Eve. Head coach Mike Pettine spoke with concern this week about Manziel’s pattern of behavior without fully threatening his tenuous job status.
