Will Smith drops first new music in a decade

It’s been a while, but Will Smith is gettin’ jiggy wit it once again.

The Hollywood star has released his first music in ten years by guesting with a rap on the track “Fiesta” by Colombian dance act Bomba Estéreo.

It’s an obscure name to work with, but Smith explains his motivation in the song itself. Sounding like West Philadelphia’s answer to Pitbull, he exclaims “The track is the heat/I couldn’t let the beat go by without a feature.”

It’s definitely not his best verse, but he sounds pumped to be on the mic for the first time in a long time.

His return to music isn’t completely unexpected. The 47-year-old revealed earlier in the year he was working with Kanye West, so this may not be the only feature in the pipeline.

It is often forgotten how successful Smith once was in the music business.

Over the course of his solo career and his part of the duo DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, he’s won four Grammy Awards, had four Top 10 singles and sold over 20 million albums.

Given some of the less than flattering reviews his recent movies “Focus” (2015) and “After Earth” (2013) have received, it’s a pretty good Plan B for Smith to fall back on.
