Man dead after shooting self outside News Corp. building in NYC

A former Fox television employee is dead after shooting himself outside the News Corp. building Midtown, according to reports.

Phillip Perea, 41, shot himself in the chest just before 9 a.m. in front of the Sixth Avenue and West 47th Street building, cops and witnesses said.

Perea previously worked as a promotions producer at a Fox station in Austin, Texas, according to a YouTube rant.

He had been handing out fliers, which criticized his ex-employer for having “ended my career” just before he shot himself, the official said.

Police at the scene said the man shot himself with a small-caliber pistol, which was found on the ground next to him. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he later died, cops said.

Prior to the shooting, the man was heard saying that the channel ruined his life, a source said.

In various tweets, Perea complained about his former employer, including one about an hour before he committed suicide that linked to a lengthy YouTube video titled “The American Workplace Bully: How FOX News Ended My Career.”
