Pervert charged for trying to lure 10-year-old girl in Queens

A 29-year-old Queens man has been charged for allegedly trying to lure a 10-year-old girl on a borough street Friday morning, police said Saturday.

Jaminton Carela of North Corona was charged with acting in a manner injurious to a child after being caught on surveillance video, cops said.

The victim was walking along 81st Street in Jackson Heights at about 7:40 a.m. when Carela, who was on the opposite side of the street, waved for her to come to him, cops said.

When the little girl ignored his request, Carela crossed the street, continued to follow her and reached out his hand to her, police said.

The brave girl ran away and yelled for help, and a nearby school crossing guard confronted Carela at 37th Avenue, causing him to flee, police said.

Carela has five prior arrests on a slew of charges including criminal mischief, grand larceny, disorderly conduct, and offenses related to theft, police sources said.
