A Brooklyn dad died of carbon monoxide poisoning while sitting in his snowbound car charging his cellphone in the aftermath of the blizzard.

Angel Ginel, 44, of Sunset Park was apparently trapped in the vehicle by a mound of snow that a plow had left and was desperately trying to get out before he succumbed, his family said.

“He had one hand on his phone and the other hand on the door,” said his cousin Ernie Santiago.

Before he died, Ginel had shoveled a path to his 2003 Lexus in front of 525 47th St.

Then, as he sat in the car waiting for the phone to charge, a plow came by, his family said.

“I guess they plowed him back in and he couldn’t get out,” said his wife, Ramonita. “The door was [slightly] open, but I couldn’t open it because of the snow that was there.”

She added that she first realized something was wrong when Ginel failed to come back on Sunday after going outside to move his vehicle.

“I kept calling his phone because he didn’t come home,” she said.

A police source said Ramonita called the local police precinct and asked if he had been arrested.

She made the grim discovery when others told her to check the car.
