The Force is strong with this airline’s R2-D2-themed plane

But can it jump to lightspeed?

A Japanese airline has given Star Wars fans yet another reason to rejoice this week after revealing a first-of-its-kind “R2-D2” plane.

The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner may look like some sort of epic fan art, but officials at All Nippon Airways will assure you — this blue and white beast is definitely NOT a trap.

“Taking off Fall 2015…[the] ‘R2-D2 Jet’,” the company posted on its website. “In the long adventurous journey, R2-D2 reached a unique personality. Highly loyal and whenever he faces challenge he comes up with an original idea to succeed the mission.”

The aircraft was unveiled at Thursday’s “Star Wars Celebration” in Anaheim, Cali. — where fans of the saga were also greeted with a spanking new trailer for Episode VII.

Complete with a graphic design scheme that honors the droid’s iconic gizmos and gadgets, the jumbo jet takes on the appearance of a soaring R2 but also pays homage to ANA’s official colors.

No further details have been released about the plane, but the airline has confirmed that it will service an international route ahead of the movie’s debut in December.
