Two Giants seem out of sorts — but only one has a track record

The leader of Big Blue gets to see Eli Manning day after trial-and-error day trying to execute Ben McAdoo’s hybrid West Coast offense with pace and precision, and with the regular season two weeks away, Antrel Rolle essentially says:

What did you expect? SuperMann in August?

“I’m fully confident in Eli, that guy can do whatever he puts his mind to,” Rolle told The Post. “This is a new offense, a new system, a new way of doing things, so … You can’t expect him to go out there and be a two-time Super Bowl MVP right off the bat.

“It takes time. He’s human.”

The human quarterback of the Giants and the first-team offense will play a minimum of 15 snaps in the preseason finale Thursday night against the Patriots because this is a work in progress that needs more work to show progress with the Lions waiting in ambush Sept. 8 in Detroit.

“We have time, we still have a little bit of time, and need to be, I think the defense is strong enough to hold its ground and give the offense more opportunity to put the ball in the end zone, and vice versa,” Rolle said.

There is the battered, unsettled state of the offensive line (Geoff Schwartz, Brandon Mosley), which has caused its own set of problems, and then there is Odell’s Hell — the inability of No. 1 pick wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to practice, much less play, hamstrung with loneliness and frustration.

Beckham was observed Monday throwing a ball on the side to linebacker James Anderson and eating lunch at Victor Cruz’s bustling table.

Beckham was not made available to the media, but his former LSU teammate Rueben Randle says not being able to help is killing him.

“He don’t like it at all,” Randle said. “Every day that he has to sit out at practice, it frustrates him, and he kinda gets down on himself a little bit, but I try to be there for him to pep him up, let him know just continue to do what he can, just get healthy. It’s a long season. I feel like he’s trying to rush it right now. I’m sure if we needed him to do anything, he could go out there and do it right now, but there’s no need for him to rush it if he’s gonna come back out here and hurt it again.”

Randle notices a marked difference in Beckham’s personality when he gets down.

Odell Beckham Jr.’s mood will improve when he gets on the field, teammates sayCharles Wenzelberg

“He gets quieter, he’s off to himself a lot,” Randle said. “Usually he’s one of those energetic guys, dancing around, joking around. So you know when he’s quiet and got his head down, you know something’s wrong that’s bothering him.”

Randle was plagued with a right hamstring issue as a high school senior.

“I continued to play on it, I just hobbled around,” Randle said.

For Giants fans who have yet to see Beckham play, what will they see when he’s fully healthy?

“I don’t know if I want to spoil ’em like that, man,” Randle said, and smiled. “He’s a big-time playmaker, man. His route-running is very top-tier, and his hands, I don’t really have to speak on his hands, I think everybody knows that he has some of the best hands in the league.”

Asked if Beckham reminds him of anybody in the league, Randle thought for a short while and said: “Something like Percy Harvin. Very explosive, quick, fast, can catch and run with the ball. That’s the type of things we’re expecting out of him.”

In the meantime, Odell’s Hell is Tom Coughlin’s Hell as well.

“I think he’s very frustrated,” Coughlin said. “His whole personality is held within check because he’s not able to do the things that he wants to do.” Asked how frustrating it is for him, Coughlin said: “He and I, both of our personalities are held within check.”

And Manning’s?

“You’d love to have all your guys, and especially a new receiver, but you understand hey, it’s an injury, it’s a hamstring, I know he wants to be out there, and hopefully he’ll get out there soon,” Manning said.

Not soon enough to play against the Pats.

“How ’bout practicing before you play?” Coughlin asked incredulously.

Not even SuperMann in August could pull that off.
