A suspect tried to rape a woman in Elmhurst, cops said.

The 23-year-old victim was at Gleane Street and Elmhurst Avenue when the fiend punched her in the back of the head at about 4:50 a.m. on Aug. 16, according to police.

She fell to the ground and he got on top of her, cops said.

But she fought back and he finally fled the scene, cops said.

The suspect was seen on video surveillance nearby wearing white plaid pants and a dark T-shirt.


Cops arrested a suspect who stabbed a foe in Bayside, police said.

Curtis Ward, 29, of Queens, stabbed the 34-year-old man in the Safari Beach Club on Bell Boulevard near 41st Avenue at 12:55 a.m. Thursday, according to police.

The two men were fighting over a woman, police sources said.

Ward allegedly sliced the man’s throat with a knife as the fight escalated, then plunged it into the victim’s chest and fled the scene, said law- ­enforcement authorities.

Investigators caught up with Ward at an address in Flushing where he surrendered, according to the sources.

The victim was rushed to New York Hospital of Queens where he was listed in critical condition.

Ward was charged with attempted murder, felony assault with intent to cause death, and assault as a misdemeanor with intent to cause injury with a weapon, cops said.

It wasn’t immediately known if the two foes had been previously acquainted.

The arrest was Ward’s first in New York, authorities said.


A man was stabbed to death in Elmhurst, cops said.

The victim, whose name was not immediately released, was discovered inside a building at 83-45 Broadway at about 3 p.m. Friday after cops received a call of a person stabbed at that location.

Police say the 50-year-old man was found with multiple stab wounds to the chest.

He was pronounced dead at Elmhurst General Hospital, according to authorities.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is continuing, cops said.
