Nets’ Lopez wants to be center of Brooklyn future

Nets center Brook Lopez loves Disney World. But he does not want to play in Orlando.

“He really wants to see it through with the Nets and go to Brooklyn,” Chris Lopez, the center’s brother and advisor, told The Post yesterday. “We’re back in California and he understands the situation, but he wants to remain consistent: He wants to be a Brooklyn Net. He hasn’t played anywhere else and he likes the organization. He wants to be a part of it now that they’re going to be good.”

Lopez, the center, has been prominently mentioned in the Nets’ talks with Orlando about a potential deal for Dwight Howard. He would need to agree to a sign-and-trade, and Chris Lopez, said, “Honestly, I couldn’t answer that, it’s Brook’s call” about whether he would be a willing.

“Brook is a very prideful person and he believes if he had a good roster around him, the Nets could compete for a title,” Chris Lopez said.

Along with Lopez and three future first-round picks, the Nets have discussed dealing Kris Humphries in a sign-and-trade and guard MarShon Brooks.

“We are prepared to play for any team that wants us. We know this situation is out of our control,” said Brooks’ agent, Seth Cohen. “MarShon has been working extremely hard, and is looking forward to having his hard work pay [off], no matter the colors on his uniform.”

Lopez, 24, the 10th pick in the 2008 draft, played just five games last season because of a broken foot and subsequent ankle injury. In his first three seasons, he averaged 17.4 points and 7.6 rebounds.

“Brook and his rehab are doing fine,” Chris Lopez said. “He is doing a lot of elliptical work, shooting, showing no effects. He has been working really hard toward seeing it through to Brooklyn. He is willing to do anything to make it happen.

“But we haven’t heard anything other than what we’ve read and seen [on TV].”
