Sophie Theallet

Continuing over from last season, it was all about layering at Sophie Theallet, at least for the daywear.

The first look set the tone: an orchid and coral light sweater under an ice-blue, sleeveless organza dress with an exposed zipper. The combination of organza and knit pairings was repeated both under dresses and with skirts. Then came a parade of nurse-white dresses, each in great shapes — a shirt, a one-shoulder and a severe button-up.

The next tight-bodiced, full-skirted dresses were just pretty, no layering involved. They came in a sari print, a rust print, and black organza.

The French-born Theallet has always excelled at the knock-you-out, slit-to-here gown. This time around the most memorable was made of a whimsical yellow butterfly print on white and purple fabric.
