Starr Report

It’s been a while since we dropped in on our pals at Hallmark Channel — but, hey, it’s already mid-February, so it’s about time to check in on the network’s daytime lineup, specifically “Home & Family” and “Marie,” both of which premiered last fall.

“Home & Family,” which airs from 10 a.m. to noon, is chugging along, averaging 127,000 viewers for the season with co-hosts Mark Steines and Christine Ferrare. That’s despite losing original co-host Page Davis, who left last fall and was replaced by Ferrare in December. The Steines/Ferrare combo has been a hit-or-miss affair in terms of ratings — hitting a series-high 196,000 viewers during Christmas week — which fell to 107,000 viewers the week of Feb. 4. The good news is that the show has averaged at least 100,000 viewers since the first week of November.

Marie Osmond’s “Marie,” meanwhile — which airs at noon and went to a four-day schedule (Monday-Thursday) in mid-January — is averaging 114,000 viewers and, like “Home & Family,” has been all over the place in terms of numbers.

However, “Marie” has been trending downward since early January, and averaged only 62,000 viewers the week of Feb. 4 (the latest numbers available from Nielsen). That was the show’s third-worst week, in terms of total viewers (it averaged 57,000 viewers the week of Jan. 7).

Osmond and her brother, Donny Osmond, have been touring across the pond in the UK for the past month and a half — but her shows have been mostly new episodes which she taped before she left for the tour.

Osmond’s guests next week include Patrick Warburton (“Rules of Engagement”), Shirley Jones and Charlene Tilton (“Dallas”).

Last, but not least:

* Singer Jason Mraz, a big fan of the late Fred Rogers (“Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood”) will sing the opening and closing songs — both penned by Rogers — on today’s episode of “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” (PBS Kids). The songs are “It’s a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” and “It’s Such a Good Feeling” . . . Congrats to NBC’s Tom Brokaw on the arrival of his first grandson, Archer Thomas Merritt Brokaw. Mom is Brokaw’s daughter, Sarah Brokaw.
