A coldhearted nurse’s aide was arrested after she was captured on video abusing an elderly woman suffering from Alzheimer’s disease at a Bronx nursing home, authorities said.
Sandra Kerr, 55, was caught hitting the woman twice in her side on Sept. 14 at the Gold Crest Care Center in Pelham Gardens, New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman alleged.
The woman’s granddaughter had been worried about her care, and hid the camera in the room.
Two days earlier, Kerr had pushed the helpless woman into the metal railing of her bed and pushed padding from the bed onto her body, authorities said.
Kerr was charged with three counts of willful violation of the public-health law, as well as three counts of endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person. She could face one year in jail.
