The media’s Partisan-sip: Blocking Rubio’s message?

The Issue: Coverage of Sen. Marco Rubio’s sip of water during his response to President Obama’s speech.

***

The mainstream media continue to spread their brand of propaganda by repeatedly portraying conservatives as idiots (“Marco, Meet the Press,” Editorial, Feb. 15).

Instead of reporting on the salient points that Sen. Marco Rubio made during his response to the State of the Union lie-fest, all we see on the evening news is Rubio reaching for his water bottle.

Meanwhile, the media are silent as President Obama continues to put the entire country under water.John Dell

The left is trying to destroy Rubio politically because they fear any Spanish-speaking, black or female person who has conservative views.

They screwed up with Rubio by trying to make a big deal out of his drink of water — they are making him better known.

How dare Rubio take a sip of water during his speech? Who does he think he is?

Why are we worrying about Obama not lifting a finger to help four Americans being attacked in Benghazi when we have important issues that may affect our national security and economy like Rubio drinking water?Jim Bitros

Rubio got his first real taste of the hatred the liberal press has for Republicans by the coverage he is receiving over his now-famous drink of water.

In a strange way, Rubio should consider this a compliment because it’s obvious that liberals consider him a real threat in 2016.

Why else would a drink of water bring so much attention?

The meanness and pettiness shown by the liberal media in The Post’s analysis is outrageous.

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, who was once referred to as a “sick puppy” by former President George H.W. Bush, sprang like a tiger on the water story.

Chris Matthews of “tingle up my leg” fame is equally obnoxious to anyone critical of Obama.
