A vicious thug followed a man into his Chelsea home, punched the victim, then stole his cash, cops said.

The suspect began following his prey around 4:30 a.m., Friday, near the corner of Eighth Avenue and West 28th Street, police said.

He forced the 61-year-old man into his building, punched him in the eye, grabbed the man’s money and fled, according to police.

He was wearing a dark hoodie, a red hat, blue pants and dark boots.

A school safety agent was arrested after punching a woman in a Midtown bar, police said.

It’s not clear what sparked the dispute between Edwin Clemente, 28, and the woman he slugged inside the D.I.P. Aquabar and Lounge on West 45th Street, near Sixth Avenue, around 2:15 a.m., yesterday, police said.

The club was hosting a “Euro Splash Party,” with a swim-up bar and pool.

The victim did not know her attacker, sources said, and it wasn’t clear whether she sought medical treatment for her injuries.

Clemente was charged with misdemeanor assault.

The Bronx

A homeless man with a long rap sheet targeted family members in a series of arsons in Unionport and Bronxwood, sources said.

Steve Contreras, 25, set fire to a relative’s home on Bruckner Boulevard, near Castle Hill Avenue, last Feb. 22, police said.

He tried to burn down the same home again on Feb. 12, of this year, police said.

He lit a fire at Williamsbridge Road, near Waring Avenue, a day earlier, on Feb. 11, cops said.

Contreras was arrested after police found him at a shelter on Wards Island around 9 p.m., Saturday.

He was charged with arson, reckless endangerment and assault.

Contreras has a long rap sheet that includes prior arrests for harassment and contempt, sources said.

Brooklyn

Three deli workers who agreed to buy a stolen iPhone had two loaded weapons in their Bedford- Stuyvesant business, police said.

The workers tried to buy the stolen device for $30 inside of 94 Gourmet, a bodega on Tompkins Avenue, around 1:35 p.m., Saturday, cops said.

When officers cuffed and searched the trio, they found a .380 black semiautomatic handgun with three live rounds and an Ekol Sava Magnum 9 mm with 10 bullets, police said.

Since the deli is one block from a school, the three men were hit with charges of possessing weapons near school grounds, cops said.

Hassan Yahya, 57, Robert Cepeda, 18, and Sultan Hussain, 29, were also charged with possession of a loaded firearm and possession of a defaced weapon.

Hussain and Cepeda face additional charges for possessing marijuana, cops said.

A sneaky thief used a screw driver to open the door of an apartment building and steal a package delivered to a tenant in Carroll Gardens, cops said.

The suspect was caught on camera as he broke into the Baltic Street building around 4:40 p.m., Jan. 24, police said.

He grabbed the goods and fled, according to police.

The suspect is believed to be 5-foot-9 or 5-foot-10 and about 200 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a dark hat, gray boots, a blue jacket with white letters and tan pants.

An NYPD 911 dispatcher was arrested for assaulting a woman inside a home in Bedford-Stuyvesant, police said.

It wasn’t clear why off-duty employee Tawana Jackson, 42, allegedly attacked her 45-year-old pal around 12:40 a.m., yesterday.

Jackson was charged with misdemeanor assault.

Queens

A man was shot once in the chest in Ozone Park yesterday, police said.

The 32-year-old victim, whose name has not been released, was shot once and struck in the chest while inside the doorway of 107-10 Rockaway Boulevard around 4:05 a.m., cops said.

He was taken to Jamaica Hospital in critical condition, according to police.

The shooter fled and no arrests have been made.
