‘The Job’ gets pink-slipped after 2 episodes

The Job” is now unemployed.

CBS has pink-slipped its Lisa Ling-hosted series, “The Job,” after only two low-rated episodes.

Last Friday’s episode averaged only 3.4 million viewers, down from the show’s premiere episode, which averaged only 4.1 million viewers on Feb. 8, the show’s premiere.

On “The Job,” contestants competed to win their dream job at a dream company.

Its ratings were actually lower than “Made in Jersey,” which CBS yanked off the schedule last fall — also after only two episodes.

It’s unclear if CBS will air the show’s remaining episodes.

Undercover Boss” — a similar show about millionaire entrepreneurs who spend a week incognito doing bottom-of-the-barrel work among their lowest-paid employees — is taking over the time slot at least for now, according to reports.

“The Job” boasted two well-known executive producers: Mark Burnett, the “Survivor” guru who’s also behind “The Bible” — which premieres March 3 on History — and Michael Davies (“Who Wants to Be a Millionaire”).
