DC on a ‘Whale’ watch

Mrs. Drew goes to Washington.

In her first public appearance since the infamous London Whale trade sank her career and badly dinged JPMorgan Chase’s reputation, Ina Drew is set to be grilled in front of Washington lawmakers tomorrow.

Drew — the bank’s former chief investment officer — oversaw the so-called London Whale trader who made the dicey derivatives trades that blew a $6.2 billion hole into the bank’s books.

She is slated to appear before Sen. Carl Levin’s (D-Mich.) Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations.

Drew, 56, a well-admired JPMorgan veteran, was the highest-ranking casualty of the trading debacle.

Drew will be joined by Michael Cavanagh, co-CEO of the firm’s investment bank, and former CFO Doug Braunstein. CEO Jamie Dimon will not appear.
