Crash-slay indictment

The career criminal who fled the scene of a fatal crash that killed an expectant couple and their unborn baby has been indicted by a grand jury on the top charge, Brooklyn prosecutors revealed yesterday.

Julio Acevedo, 44, was indicted for leaving the scene of the accident.

Prosecutors have said Acevedo could get 25 years to life in prison on that charge alone.

Acevedo didn’t appear in the courtroom.

“There’s no crime. They’re judging him on his past,” said his wife, Dorothy, after the proceeding.

“I’m not surprised. I fully expected him to be indicted,” said his defense attorney, Kathleen Julian.

Acevedo, who previously served time for killing the man who inspired rapper 50 Cent’s stage name, swerved around a firetruck and was going about 60 mph when his BMW hit the livery cab carrying Nachman and Raizy Glauber, both 21-year-old Orthodox Jews, prosecutors have said.

The Glaubers’ son was delivered by emergency Caesarean section after the crash, but died the next day.
