PARIS — A man broke into Paris’ Museum of Natural History and used a chain saw to cut a tusk from a centuries-old elephant skeleton, authorities said.
A neighbor of the museum called authorities after hearing the sawing sound at 3 a.m. yesterday, cops said. The suspect, about 20, was busted with the tusk outside the museum. The skeleton belonged to an elephant that Portugal’s king gave to French King Louis XIV in 1668. A museum official said it can be repaired.
