Cops nab serial Manhattan apartment burglars

Cops busted two burglars who struck several Manhattan apartments, authorities said.

Ex-con Donald McLaurin, 44, and accomplice Antonette Davis, 36, allegedly took jewelry, credit cards, and a laptop from a lower Manhattan apartment on Fulton Street near Nassau Street on Jan. 12, court papers state.

They also allegedly burglarized a Greenwich Village residence on 13th Street near Sixth Avenue on Dec. 4, and took handbags, jewelry, and a laptop, authorities said.

The duo first struck a 71st Street apartment near Broadway on Sep. 6, entering the building through the roof, and made off with a laptop and suitcase, records show. They also allegedly tried to break into the same place again on Dec. 4, but didn’t get anything.

McLaurin and Davis were charged with four counts of burglary, and told authorities they committed the crimes to support their drug habits.

Police initially arrested McLaurin for twelve heists throughout the city, but prosecutors only charged them with four.

Records show that McLaurin went to state prison several times, and had been convicted of second-degree burglary.
