Yankee fans are getting beaned in the bank account.
A family of four can expect to shell out a whopping $337.20 for a day at the ballpark — the second-highest bill among all baseball teams, according to a new report.
Once considered affordable entertainment for the entire clan, America’s pastime has gone from bleachers and peanuts to $4.50 sodas and $35 parking.
Yankee Stadium sticker shock includes four tickets at the average price of $51.55, two $6 beers, four $3 hot dogs, $35 for parking, a couple of $5 programs, two hats at $25 each, and four $3 soft drinks, according to research company Team Marketing Report.
“It’s gotten outrageous,” said Jim Joels, 58, of Hillsborough, NJ, who attended last night’s game with his girlfriend and their two kids. “Because of the costs, we can only do it a couple of times a year.”
Bomber boosters can take solace knowing reviled Red Sox fans are shelling out the most in the league for a trek to Fenway Park — a clan of four pays $337.80.
Over in Flushing, a Met-loving family will pay $223, the 11th-most expensive tab in the league.
While second in overall cost, the Yankees lead the league in the price of parking and hats.
The highest stadium prices don’t always correspond with championship results — the hapless Chicago Cubs rounded out the top three at $298.20 per family, according to the report.
The Mets and Yankees did not return requests for comment.
“There’s a breaking point for fans,” said Will Flaherty of the online ticket-price-comparison Web site SeatGeek. “There is an upper limit. These prices can’t go up forever — the tickets, the concessions. When there are so many other entertainment options available, people will just stay at home at a certain point.”
Despite increasing fan fatigue with high ballpark costs, 14 franchises saw their average family-visit price increase this season, according to the study.
