Weiner in tweet

Anthony Weiner is once again ready to let it all hang out — he’s back on Twitter.

For the first time since his 2011 sexting scandal forced him to resign from Congress in disgrace, Weiner returned to the Twitterverse yesterday with a squeaky clean pair of posts.

With the new handle @anthonyweiner and a new logo that reads, “Fighting to keep New York City the Capital of the Middle Class,” his new account had only about 5,000 followers on its first day, compared with the 67,000 followers he left behind on his old account, @repweiner.

Asked why he chose to return to the technology that ended his congressional career, Weiner, who is mulling a run for mayor, said the time had come.

“It seemed like a fresh start was in order, especially in light of all the new ideas around, which I am hoping to drive conversation and debate,” he told The Post via e-mail.
