NBA: Heat, Warriors win

Dwyane Wade scored 21 points and LeBron James finished with 19 as the Heat beat the visiting Bucks 98-86 in Game 2 of their first-round playoff series. Ersan Ilyasova scored 21 points for the Bucks, who trail the best-of-seven series 2-0 with Game 3 set for tomorrow in Milwaukee.

Stephen Curry had 30 points and 13 assists and the sixth-seeded Warriors handed the Nuggets their first loss at home in more than three months, a 131-117 stunner that evened their playoff series at a 1-1.

Mike Brown, who led the Cavaliers to the playoffs in all five seasons he coached them from 2005-10, agreed in principle to a four-year, $20 million contract to return as their coach.

SOCCER: Bayern Munich romps

Thomas Mueller scored two goals as Bayern Munich dominated visiting Barcelona to take a 4-0 lead after the first leg of their Champions League semifinal. Lionel Messi started for Barcelona despite hamstring worries but looked far from his best and was hardly a factor. The second leg will be played next week in Spain.

MLB: Braves put Rockies on ice

It was 23 degrees in Denver when Justin Upton slugged his 10th home run, leading the Braves to a 4-3 victory over the Rockies in first game of a doubleheader. The previous low game-time temperature at Coors Field was 28 for games against Montreal on April 12, 1997, and versus the Mets last Thursday.

In the nightcap, a 10-2 victory, Upton and his brother B.J. hit back-to-back homers for the first time in their careers. It was the 27th time in major league history brothers hit homers in the same game but only the second time they did it in consecutive at-bats.

COLLEGE: BCS slates playoff

The Bowl Championship Series is being replaced by the College Football Playoff starting after the 2014 regular season. The new postseason format will create two national semifinals to be played New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day at the Sugar and Rose bowls, with the winners advancing to Cowboys Stadium for the title game on Jan. 12.

Two former Syracuse ball boys are asking a judge to reinstate their slander lawsuit against the school and coach Jim Boeheim. Bobby Davis and Mike Lang claim Boeheim slandered them in November 2011 when he publicly called them liars out for money when they accused assistant coach Bernie Fine of molesting them as children.

ETC.: Bengals sign Harrison

The Bengals officially signed free agent James Harrison, the five-time Pro Bowl linebacker from the rival Steelers. … New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said he has reached agreement with the NFL to better protect gay players from harassment and discrimination.

The U.S. Justice Department laid out its case in a lawsuit against Lance Armstrong yesterday in Austin, Texas, saying the cyclist violated his contract with the U.S. Postal Service and was “unjustly enriched” while cheating to win the Tour de France.
