Brooklyn boy sets himself on fire

A Brooklyn boy is recovering from first-degree burns after going into his bathroom Saturday and emerging on fire, authorities said.

Vernon Scott, 10, exited his Bradford Avenue home’s bathroom with his clothes aflame at 8 a.m., police sources say. He was taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center in serious condition.

His family told cops they had removed their stove’s knobs because he plays with fire, the sources said.

Cops believe the boy used an accelerant, but the cause is still under investigation.

A man identifying himself as Vernon’s uncle told The Post the boy was playing with a candle.
