UK newswoman Deborah Turness set to lead NBC News

British news executive Deborah Turness is expected to be the first woman to lead NBC’s news operations, The Post has learned.

Turness, 45, currently the chief of ITV’s news operation, ITN, will likely be named president of NBC News in the coming weeks, sources said.

She will succeed long-time chief Steve Capus, who exited in February after 8 years.

NBC News denied the speculation, while Turness’ office said she wasn’t available to comment.

It’s unclear when Turness’ contract with ITN ends, allowing NBC to make an official announcement.

Turness interviewed with NBC News Chairman Patricia Fili-Krushel, who told insiders she was looking for a woman for the position.
