DREAM DATES: Jake Davidson (top) scored huge when supermodel Nina Agdal accompanied him to the prom, as did Brad Parascandola (bottom left) with porn star Houston and Tommy Kanable with Cindy Margolis (bottom right). (

Every day on the Internet, another wide-eyed high-school student asks a movie star or athlete to prom. But what’s it really like to take a bold-faced name to the big dance?

Don’t expect a lot of alone time.

“Even in the limo, there was a camera guy. But he was pretty quiet,” said Jake Davidson, the plucky California 17-year-old who snagged a date with supermodel Nina Agdal, 21, to his prom two weeks ago.

“I was preparing some jokes, in case it was awkward, but it was just fluid conversation. She liked the Miami Heat and travels a lot.”

Classmates were welcoming to Agdal — in part because she wasn’t the model whom Davidson originally asked via YouTube.

“A lot of the girls were angry when they thought Kate Upton was coming,” Davidson said. “They thought she’d overshadow them.”

The date was a smash hit — except for the fact that they spent a grand total of about a minute inside the venue, the Annenberg Community Beach House in Santa Monica.

“If we would have gone inside, the [“Inside Edition”] camera crews would have hounded all the kids,” Davidson said. “I wanted to respect my friends.”

The roots of taking a celebrity to prom predate Google — beginning with the original Internet “it” girl, Cindy Margolis.

In 1996, she went to Tommy Kanable’s prom in Michigan, having met him four years earlier as he recovered from a mysterious illness.

It was a Margolis poster — affixed to the ceiling over Tommy’s hospital bed — that miraculously aroused the ailing teen, his mom, Kathy, believes.

The model learned of her curative effect and reached out to the family, with whom she remained close. Healthy and emboldened, Kanable, now 35, asked her out the old-fashion way — on the phone.

“I originally asked her to homecoming, and she said she couldn’t. Me being a smart-ass, I said, ‘How about prom?’ And she said, ‘OK, let’s do it.’

“Some of the girls at school were resentful — but I had such an ego at that point that I didn’t care,” said the self-described “geek” who’s single and still keeps about five posters of the blond beauty on his wall.

Of course, everyone knows there’s no chance of ever getting lucky with a celeb prom date — unless of course, you’re Brad Parascandolo.

In 1999, Parascandolo took porn star Houston to his prom at Tottenville HS on Staten Island, a match brokered by shock jock Howard Stern.

The two reportedly dated a year after that — and even lived together at her Los Angeles home.

Parascandolo, 32, now a New York City police officer, would not comment about any post-prom relationship he may have had with Houston, known for such films as “Many Happy Returns” and “Flesh Peddlers 2.”

“It was every 18-year-old’s dream,” he told The Post. “It was a great experience. Something that I might not tell my grandchildren about.”
