A cold meal

Billionaire businessman Steve Schwarzman likes cold hard cash.

But a meat-locker-cold steakhouse? Not so much.

With temperatures already dipping into the teens on Thursday night, a shivering Schwarzman groused multiple times at a private dinner hosted by the private-equity tycoon’s Blackstone Group at Smith & Wollensky.

“Can we get some heat in here?” Schwarzman griped during the event at one point.

Attendees munched on meals that included black-and-blue filet mignon, which had to be consumed rapidly for fear the nippy temperatures in the Midtown steakhouse, where the fete took place, would turn the food into meat-cicles.

Just 24 hours earlier, Blackstone had hosted an event for kids from the East Harlem tutorial program, where penguins from Sea World — a theme park the firm has a stake in — frolicked with children at the firm’s offices.

Based on the temperatures at Smith & Wo, maybe the penguins would have been more comfortable there.
