Prison for gay-center embezzler

The former chief of a Bronx gay-community center broke down in tears yesterday at her sentencing for stealing $338,000 and using it for personal expenses.

Blubbering Lisa Winters, who pleaded guilty to the scam, will serve two to six years in prison.

“I’m so sorry to all the people that I hurt,” Winters sobbed.

“I’m so sorry for all the harm I caused.

“I can’t believe I’m in this position. My mom was dying. I don’t know what I was thinking.”

Winters stole so much from the Bronx Community Pride Center that the facility had to close down last summer.

Bronx Supreme Court Justice Martin Marcus called Winter’s crimes a “betrayal of trust.”
