Florida coach takes shot at Ohio State

Florida coach Will Muschamp says Ohio State did report the Gators for possible NCAA violations.

Muschamp said yesterday that no violations were found by the SEC or NCAA, and then he took a jab at Ohio State.

“And so we appreciated our friends from Ohio making sure we’re compliant with NCAA rules. They certainly know a little bit about that subject,” he said, according to USA Today.

TOUR DE FRANCE: Froome fumes, keeps lead

Chris Froome preserved his healthy overall lead after a nervous finish to yesterday’s 16th stage, and then blamed his main rival, Alberto Contador, for a downhill incident that could have ended their races, in which Froome had to go off the course to avoid running into a fallen Contador.

Portuguese rider Rui Costa won the stage.

TENNIS: Hingis to unretire to play at SoCal

Track star and bobsledder Lolo Jones allegedly slugged the stepdaughter of bobsledding official Tony Carlino Saturday at a nightclub in Lake Placid. Deadspin.com reported Carlino’s stepdaughter was “on the ground” before getting up and chasing Jones out of the club where the two had to be separated by bouncers. A witness told Deadspin Carlino’s stepdaughter was drunk and confronted Jones near the dance floor.
