Janine Turner finds ‘Solace’ in her latest role

Former “Northern Exposure” and “Friday Night Lights” star Janine Turner is jumping to the big screen — opposite Sir Anthony Hopkins.

Turner has been cast in the upcoming movie thriller “Solace,” in which she will play the wife of a retired doctor and civilian analyst for the FBI (Hopkins) who’s hunting a serial killer (played by Colin Farrell).

The movie co-stars “Magic City’s” Jeffrey Dean Morgan — as a veteran FBI detective — “Klondike” star Abbie Cornish (as his FBI partner), Sean Bailey, Ted Griffen and James Vanderbilt.

It’s written by Peter Morgan (“The Queen).

Turner, 50, starred for six seasons on “Northern Exposure” as Maggie O’Connell (opposite Rob Morrow’s Joel Fleischman) and also appeared as a series regular on Lifetime’s “Strong Medicine.”

She had an eight-episode arc on “Friday Night Lights” back in 2008.
