Mom in dark as B’klyn crash toddler dies

The toddler hit by a car while standing with his mother at a Brooklyn bus stop has died — though his injured mom still does not know he passed away.

Two-year-old Denim McLein died Thursday morning after he was left brain dead by the East Flatbush accident last Saturday, cops said.

A woman ran a red light at Church and Utica avenues at about 6:30 p.m. and plowed her Lincoln sedan into the tot, his mother, Wendy McLein, 37, and 10 others, police said.

The driver told investigators her brakes failed before she blew a light and jumped the sidewalk, police sources said.

No criminality is suspected, and she was not issued any summonses.

Wendy McLein is fighting for her life at Kings County Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.

A friend wrote on Facebook that the mom did not yet know Denim had died.

After the accident, doctors assured her relatives that Denim was unconscious and not suffering.

His mother had named a juice bar and cafe in Bedford-Stuyesant after the boy — the Denim Cafe and Denim Lounge.

Two men, ages 86 and 69, were also hurt. One suffered minor injuries, while the other was taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.
