FDNY will tweak its tweeters

The FDNY will issue new “guidelines for social media usage,” after the commissioner’s own EMT son lost his job for racist Twitter posts and other EMTs were canned for posting patients’ photos online.

“A few members of our department have used social media to express views that are racist, anti-Semitic or sexist, and in some instances have violated the public’s right to privacy,” Fire Commssioner Sal Cassano said in a statement yesterday. “It should be clear to everyone that highly offensive comments such as these undermine our trust with the public.”

Cassasno’s son Joseph Cassano, 23, resigned last month after The Post revealed his Twitter postings included derogatory references to blacks and Jews.

A week later, EMS Lt. Timothy Dluhos was suspended for 30 days over his tweets against blacks, Jews and women.
