Fairway employee charged with murdering co-worker

A Fairway employee has been charged with the murder of a co-worker, who was stabbed to death outside the supermarket’s warehouse in Manhattanville, police said.

Jovanny Paulino, 25, began arguing with his pal Pedro Miguel Payero Valerio, 22, at the wholesale outlet on Twelfth Avenue, near West 135th Street, around 1:45 p.m., Saturday, cops said. The fight continued across the street, in front of the Hudson River Café, where Paulino pulled out a knife and stabbed the Bronx man in the torso, cops said.

The victim collapsed in the street and EMS rushed him to St. Luke’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, police said.

Paulino, also from the Bronx, fled but was picked up soon afterward, cops said. He has been charged with second-degree murder and felony assault.
