Tatiana Maslany ‘Parks’ it on NBC sitcom

Tatiana Maslany, the star of BBC America’s drama “Orphan Black,” is headed for Pawnee, Ind. — and the comedy of NBC’s “Parks & Recreation.”

Maslany, who plays multiple roles on “Black,” will appear in the fifth and sixth episodes of “Parks & Rec” as the latest in Tom Haverford’s (Aziz Ansari) long line of romantic interests.

On the sci-fi-oriented “Orphan Black,” the Canadian-born Maslany, 27, plays 10 different characters who were cloned from one woman.

The series, which premiered last March on BBC America, has been renewed for a second season that’s scheduled to premiere next April.

Maslany is just one of the high-profile actors cast in the upcoming sixth season of “Parks & Rec,” in which Amy Poehler stars as Leslie Knope, the director of the parks and recreation department in the fictional town of Pawnee, Ind.

In addition to Maslany, NBC has tapped Kristen Bell, Heidi Klum, Lucy Lawless and Henry Winkler to guest-star on the show this season.

“Parks & Rec” has struggled to find a strong core audience but has performed well enough among adults 18-49 to warrant renewals.

Series co-stars Rob Lowe and Rashida Jones have announced they will leave the series later this season (after its 13th episode).
