Ashley Morrison quits anchor position at ‘CBS MoneyWatch’

“CBS MoneyWatch” anchor Ashley Risk Morrison — the wife of hot-headed, former Channel 2 talking head Rob Morrison — quit her job, citing a new, long commute to work.

Her husband, former WCBS anchor Rob Morrison, was arrested and charged with choking and threatening her back in February.

He eventually pleaded guilty to lesser charges, and Ashley Morrison backtracked from her original statement to cops.

Ashley Morrison announced her resignation on Facebook yesterday and told viewers she didn’t want to travel nearly two hours a day, from her home in Darien, Conn., down to Wall Street.

“So after much careful consideration and thought I have quit my job at CBS News. They want to start doing MoneyWatch from the NYSE in the mornings beginning next week and I just couldn’t take on the additional 1.5-2 hour commute it would add to my day,” she wrote.

“I want to THANK YOU all for watching over the past 4 years at CBS and making me a part of your mornings on tv!! I’m very grateful for the opportunity I had at CBS, it was great fun and hopefully you’ll be seeing me again soon!! XO.”

“CBS has been great to me,” shed told The Post Thursday outside her home.

Rob Morrison quit his WCBS gig shortly after The Post revealed that Ashley’s brother had previously told cops that the temperamental taking head threatened to “shoot their son in front of her and then shoot her” if she ever left him.

Morrison pleaded guilty to making threats and breach of the peace, stemming from his altercation with Ashley at their posh Connecticut home.

The disgraced former anchor will be in the clear if he completes domestic violence counseling programs.

When cops snapped a booking mug shot of Rob Morrison, he had a split lip and cut on his nose, in injuries suffered from his alleged scuffle with Ashley.
